County Antrim Open StudiosOur Story

CAOS is a network of independent craftworkers and artists living and working in County Antrim, who open their workshops and studios to visitors. Founded in 2022 by a bookbinder and a weaver after a conversation over a cup of tea one summer afternoon.

As Lorna, the weaver explained, “We realised that there were many talented people working in their own spaces, often isolated, and decided to form a network which would help us to support other artists whilst advertising their talents to a wider audience. We spoke to those we knew, and the small idea started to grow and now we have a wonderful collective of artists and artisans who open their studios to visitors.”

All CAOS members are skilled practitioners whose high level of design and finish make them nationally and internationally renowned. They understand how important it is for visitors and customers to see the making processes first-hand and to be able to gain a deeper insight of the work that goes into the products before they buy. Our members are all passionate about their work and enjoy talking to visitors whilst demonstrating their skills.

Whether you are in the area for a short visit or live here with us, there is a wealth of creative talent for you to discover in County Antrim and the welcome will be warm. Exploring the area and experiencing the process of fine art and craft-making creates memories. What better way to remember your visit than to leave with a unique piece of handcrafted art or having commissioned a bespoke gift for a special occasion.

Hedges are an effective way to screen your land from eye view, but they can quickly lose their shape if not maintained. Our CustomersLove Our Service

I recently had the pleasure of purchasing a stunning piece of artwork from one of your CAOS members, and I couldn't be happier with my purchase. The artist truly understands colour and composition, and her skills shine through in every brush stroke. Not only do I love the energy that this painting brings to my living space, but I'm also thrilled to have financially supported an amazing female artist in my community. If you are looking for unique home decor that stands out from the crowd, it is well worth investing in art made by a CAOS member!Suzanne, Ballymena, Co.Antrim

I am absolutely delighted with the ceramic. The level of quality and craftsmanship was outstanding - far exceeding my expectations - and the art itself is highly impressive. I'm incredibly pleased to have made this purchase, as it has become a standout item in my home. The artist was also very professional throughout the entire process, answering all of my questions and even sending additional photos for me to view before making my final decision. I would highly recommend CAOS members to anyone looking for quality ceramics!Claire, Galgorm, Co.Antrim
